Successful economic development means higher standards of living and longer life expectancy. Ageing populations put pressure on governments and families to provide adequate power. To care for the elderly requires power 24/7/365.

Impact and benefits

This is the first Sun Exchange project to address this issue which will become increasingly challenging throughout the world. Providing clean and affordable power to Welverdiend Retirement Resort, lowers living costs for South African retirees.

The nominated charity for this project is DementiaSA. DementiaSA is a South African Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) that assists families, communities and health professionals who have limited access to private health care, to live with dementia or care for those with dementia. When you complete your solar cell purchase, you can optionally choose to allocate any proportion of your rental income to DementiaSA, by doing so, assisting them to continue for the invaluable work they do.
